Creative Exchange - an inclusive space where artistic folks of all sorts can come together to chat, collaborate, and create. Whether you want to share your ongoing projects, discuss new opportunities, chat with other artists about your career, or simply find friends who share your interests, Creative Exchange is the place to connect.⁠  

Join us at “The Great Wall of Los Angeles”, a mural designed by Judith F. Baca. This piece, which was coordinated by Baca’s public art non-profit, the Social and Public Art Resource Center (SPARC), was created from 1978 to 1983 with the help of over 400 community youths and artists. SPARC will take the lead in guiding this walking tour of the 1/2 mile long mural.

Don't miss this opportunity to:

• Engage in creative field research and learn about the largest public art monument in Los Angeles
• Walk a half-mile of river-facing mural guided by knowledgeable docents
• Connect with local artists and from knowledgeable docents as they guide us along the Great Wall of Los Angeles - with Isabel C. Durón, SPARC's Great Wall Research Director and Bea Rulli, who has been involved with The Great Wall since its inception in 1976 and is currently the Great Wall Institute Director.
• Learn from knowledgeable docents as they guide us in a deep dive into the meanings and histories that Baca and her collaborators bring to vibrant life through their artistry.

Please bring a water bottle, a hat, and wear appropriate walking shoes.
